Chemistry is a field of Science that studies the structure of matter, and its properties, particularly the reactions which transform one substance into another. It is an empirical Science based on experimentation. Due to its importance, it has been one of the best based Sciences for centuries. Many of the advances which have contributed most to the quality of life in the world are due to the progress in Chemistry. Nowadays it contributes to the development of a wide variety of fields from cancer treatment to molecular machines or computer materials technology.
