Presentation

An Increasing social demand for a higher "State of Well-being" is encouraging the consciousness, need and search for all those procedures and methods of Physiotherapy which may be useful to improve the organic system of individuals, and result in an increase in quality of individual and community live.

The establishment of the Grade Degree in Physiotherapy and the access of physiotherapists to the official Masters, whether professional or research masters (access to Doctorate Program and possibility of preparing and defending a PhD dissertation), will benefit Physiotherapy in the specialized training which will lead to a benefit in its assistance performance, apart from standardizing Physiotherapy with the rest of Europe.

After completing these studies, the graduates will have the following academic and professional opportunities:

Academic opportunities. Relation with other studies

The Grade degree in Physiotherapy is related to all degrees in Health Sciences.

It is also related to the Non-Official Masters in Physiotherapy and with the Official Masters; in the case of the University of Almeria, at present with the Official Master in Nursing Science and with the Doctorate Programs in Health Sciences.

Professional opportunities

The diverse work opportunities address both the public and the private health sphere (accident insurance companies, private clinics, ...), at the assistencial, teaching and research levels.

The main applied fields are: Sports, Neurology, Geriatrics, Children

Professional qualification

The Grade in Physiotherapy trains students to undertake the health profession of Physiotherapist regulated by Law 44/2003 of the Regulations of health professions published in State Official Gazzette 280 of 22 November (Art 7 of point 2b).
