Nowadays the "environment problems" (pollutions, global change, desertization, extinctions, etc.) occupy an important place among the issues affecting the human quality of life and concern society. Grade in Environment Science offers a multidisplinary training, in which the graduates obtain the adequate abilities to solve these problems from diverse fields of knowledge. The professional activity of the environmentalist must be undertaken balancing the financial development and the environmental preservation, which is known as Sustainable Development.
After completing these studies, the graduates will have the following academic and professional opportunities:
Students who complete 60 credits of the Grade in Environmental Science ( "Basic " Module, 60 ECTS credits) will have these credits recognized (convalidated) for any other degree in the branch of Science.
Graduates can directly enter master studies.
A graduate in Environment Science can work as scientific advisor and technician in subjects of environmental sustainability; manager of natural resources, of hydric resources, of different types of waste, or of environment quality in companies; environmental impact assessor; consultant and designer of environment management systems; landscape designing; advisor in environment industrial technology; research in all branches of science related to environment or teaching.
At present there are no professions legally regulated for this degree.
