The Grade in Finance and Accounting trains professionals for not only developing their activity in any functional area of the company, but are also particularly trained in finance and accounting.
It is a degree with a clearly professional orientation, offering specialized training in design and development of accounting systems, which requires graduates to be able to prepare and interpret reports addressed to external and internal users of the company. These professionals should also be able to evaluate investments and different finance formulae, as well as choosing the best alternative and configuring an economic-financial structure for the company enabling its feasibility and survival.
Students can register in the bilingual mode, consisting in at least 60 ECTS credits of subjects offered in English in the Grade of the University of Almeria, and one year at an English-speaking university, with the ERASMUS or another similar program, at which they must study at least another 60 ECTS credits. The University will certify that they have undertaken the degree in bilingual mode.

The Grade degree in Finance and Accounting shares its basic training with the Grade degrees in Business Administration and Management, Grade in Economy and the Grade in Marketing and Market Research.
Graduates in Accounting and Finance may continue to one of the postgraduates offered by the Economics and Business Studies College: Official Master in Company Management, Official Interuniversity Master in Corporate Finance and Accounting, Official Master in International Business Administration and Modern Languages, and Doctorate Program in Economy and Business Management They also have access to other official and non-official masters offered by the University of Almeria.

At present there are no professions legally regulated for the Grade degree in Finance and Accouting However, the Decree 871/77 of 26 April 1977, which approved the Statutes of the Professional Activity of Economists and Business Experts and Teachers, indicates a list of functions in relation to Company economy which are related to the competences of this Degree.
Besides, the market force requires professionals with a higher level of specialization in finance-accounting, a specialization which requires or will soon require a professional certificate. Thus, in the financial area, for example, there is a clear tendency towards the regulation of this profession. The approval of Directive 2004/39/CE of the European Parliament and the European Council, of Financial Instrument Markets (MiFID), of 21 April 2004, imposes requirements on workers in the field of financial counselling and regulates the personalised financial counselling as an investment service.
