Structure of the Grade in Psychology (2010 Syllabus)

The Grade degree in Psychology is composed of 10 modules:

  • Module 1. Foundations of Psychology (12 Credits).
  • Module 2. Life Cycle Psychology and Psychology of Education (30 credits).
  • Module 3. Biological Bases of Behaviour (30 Credits).
  • Module 4. Psychological processes (36 Credits).
  • Module 5. Social Bases of Behaviour (30 Credits).
  • Module 6. Personality and Psychopathology (12 Credits).
  • Module 7. Psychological Evaluation and Diagnosis (12 Credits).
  • Module 8. Psychological Intervention and Treatment (18 Credits).
  • Module 9. Research methods, designs and techniques in Psychology (30 Credits).
  • Module 10. Introduction to Professional Activity (30 Credits).

Calendar for the Modules:

Syllabus is divided into Subject-matters, which are integrated into larger Modules. All Subject - matters last four months, and except for External Internships (18 ECTS credits) they all have a load of 6 or 12 ECTS credits. Subject - matters are organized into Subjects of 6 ECTS credits (except for the External Internships).


75% of the Subject - matters are common to all Universities in Andalusia. This includes the 60 ECTS credits of the 9 basic Subject - matters of the branch: Psychology (12 ECTS), Biology (6 ECTS), Physiology (6 ECTS) and Statistics (12 ECTS) in the branch of Health Sciences; and Psychology (12 ECTS), Sociology (6 ECTS) and Education (6 ECTS) in the branch of Social and Legal Sciences. To this we must add another 90 ECTS of the compulsory Subject - matters, the External Internships, the End of Grade Dissertation and 6 Credits for other activities.

The rest are compulsory subject - matters of the University of Almeria.

Subjects

Prerequisites and Corequisites

The Syllabus may include special conditions required for registration or for studying one or more of its subjects. These conditions are the PREREQUISITES: Subject or group of subjects, called "key" which must have been studied or passed before.

The Degree "Grade in Psychology", has no prerequisite established.

Adaptation

This link shows the equivalencies between subjects of former syllabi in order to facilitate adaptation of students to the new grade. Application for adaptation of students from the degree mentioned will lead to automatic recognition of all the credits contained in this chart:

Adaptation Procedure

Students from the current 5-Year degree in Psychology may choose among the following options:

1.) Finish the 5-year degree in Psychology, which will progressively disappear, following the calendar in the degree report and the regulation established by the University of Almeria.

2.) Adapt to the new official degree called Grade in Psychology In this case the adaptation chart on this page will apply.

3.) The calendar for termination of the above studies will be implemented gradually. Once each year is terminated, there will be four exam sittings in the following two academic years.
