The rich heritage of the Greek-Roman era is an indispensable conceptual instrument for adequately understanding the deep social and cultural transformations of our time, as well as its ethical issues, political conflicts and religious confrontations. Thus, classical studies offer a decisive contribution to the development of a variety of individual and collective capacities which offer not only a qualified professional specialization but also an adequate civic and intellectual training for our times.

The Master in Classical Philology is the continuation of the Grade Degree in Classical Philology.

Professional opportunities

1. Undertaking professional functions of responsibility in public and private agencies:

(a) cultural institutions (libraries, archives...);

(b) publishing trusts, (publishing consultant, writer and translator of classical texts);

(c) newspapers and media (cultural writer, documentalist...);

(d) theatre and cinema production (consultant, script writer...).

Professional qualification

1. Teaching subjects related to Classical Philology in secondary education and, particularly, at university level.

2. Research specialized in the field of Classical Philology.
