目标

Social workers require a comprehensive training covering disciplines, competences and attitude contents which contribute to develop professionals who not only know how to perform their duties but also know the work environment and are able to critically analyze it. This training takes into account the catalogue of specific competences defined for Social Work and also the global standars of education in Social Work defined in the international context. Thus, we propose three groups of objectives for the Grade degree in Social Work. The following:

A) Competence objectives: Know how to do.

After completing the training periodm, studends are able to:

  1. Work jointly with people, families, groups, organizations and communities to assess their needs and circumstances.
  2. Plan, implement, revise and evaluate the practice of social work with people, families, organizations, communities and other professionals.
  3. Offer support to people who are able to express needs, opinions and circumstances.
  4. Help solve the situations of vulnerability, conflict, crisis, deprivation or difficulties with people as well as those of the members of their own profession.
  5. Administer and take responsibility of the practice within the organization, with supervision and support.
  6. Show professional competence in Social Work.

B) Discipline Objectives: Know.

The competence objectives described above are based on teaching methodology intended to develop them and also on a corpus of knowledge substantiating their development and their applicability in Social Work. This knowledge must be contributed by the set of subject-matters and disciplines related to the training of the future social workers. Thus, when they complete their training period, Social Work students should:

  1. Know and critically understand the foundations of Social Work as a discipline: History, Theories, Concepts, Nature, Methods and Models.
  2. Identify and value the training, development and evolution processes of individuals, families, groups, organizations and communities, as well as those of their current manifestations and future tendencies.
  3. Show a critical understanding of how the social-structural unbalances, discrimination, oppression, and social, political and economic injusticies affect human relations and generate unrest.
  4. Acquire knowledge about human conduct and the social environment with special emphasis on the individual/environment transaction, development of the course of life, interaction among biological, psychological, social-structural and cultural factors in designing human development and behaviour.
  5. Critically analyze the concept of the need for agreement to the historical, social, political contexts in which their professional action takes place.
  6. Know and identify the main intervention strategies of social workers in their professional action with people, families, groups, organizations and communities.
  7. Know the general structure, organization, benefits of the general and specialized Social Services in the different regional governments (particularly those of Andalusia) and in the European sphere.
  8. Identify the main national and international tendencies in social policy, as well as their functioning.
  9. Acquire a good operative knowledge of the composition of groups, of programming, techniques and instruments, group dynamics and group work methods.
  10. Master the theoretical foundations and practical applications of the main instrumental supports of social work.
  11. Acquire adequate knowledge of the foundations of local, regional, national, community and international law.
  12. Acquire scientific culture about the use of epistemology of social sciences and social research: Qualitative and quantitative research process and Social Research techniques.
  13. Know the main strategies for conflict resolution through mediation.
  14. Know the basic foundations of Communication and Information Technologies applied to Social work.

C) Attitudinal Objectives: Know how to be.

As far as attitudes are concerned, when they have completed their training period, Social Work students should show an interest for:

  1. Promoting social development, showing an interest for knowing the social problems as well as their prevention, promoting the capacity in individuals to become autonomous and independent for their own well being.
  2. Promoting social justice and sustainable development, defending and facilitating people's access to the available social resources.
  3. Critically assess the real possibilities of intervention of social workers.
  4. Reflect on the existing relations between Social Work, social policies and the organic contexts which develop their performance.
  5. Promote respect for personal dignity, and for the value and oneness of all human beings.
  6. Appreciate, respect and value the growing social diversity (from the point of view of culture, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, etc.) in our immediate environment.

能力

Las competencias son el conjunto, identificable y evaluable de conocimientos, actitudes, valores, habilidades y destrezas, relacionados entre sí, que permitirán al estudiante el ejercicio de la actividad profesional conforme a las exigencias y estándares utilizados en el área ocupacional correspondiente.

Todos los grados de la Universidad de Almería contemplan, de forma explícita, tres tipos de competencias:

  1. Las competencias genéricas incluidas en el Real Decreto 1393/2007, de 29 de octubre, por el que se establece la ordenación de las enseñanzas universitarias oficiales.
  2. Las competencias genéricas de la Universidad de Almería (aprobadas en Consejo de Gobierno de 17 de junio de 2008). Se trata de competencias de carácter transversal comunes a todos los títulos.
  3. Las competencias específicas del título. Estas competencias se detallan en la memoria del título, y están relacionadas con las disciplinas propias de éste. Parte de estas competencias pueden haber sido consensuadas a nivel andaluz, o, en determinados títulos, venir reglamentadas a nivel estatal.

Competencias Básicas, Generales y Transversales

Las competencias de carácter básica, para todos los títulos de grado, vienen definidas en el R.D. 1393/2007, de 29 de octubre, y están dirigidas  a la adquisición por el estudiante de una formación general, en una o varias disciplinas, orientada a la preparación para el ejercicio de actividades de carácter profesional.

Poseer y comprender conocimientos (CB1) Que los estudiantes hayan demostrado poseer y comprender conocimientos en un área de estudio que parte de la base de la educación secundaria general, y se suele encontrar a un nivel que, si bien se apoya en libros de texto avanzados incluye también algunos aspectos que implican conocimientos procedentes de la vanguardia de su campo de estudio.
Aplicación de conocimientos (CB2) Que los estudiantes sepan aplicar sus conocimientos a su trabajo o vocación de una forma profesional y posean las competencias que suelen demostrarse por medio de la elaboración y defensa de argumentos y la resolución de problemas dentro de su área de estudio.
Capacidad de emitir juicios (CB3) Que los estudiantes tengan la capacidad de reunir e interpretar datos relevantes (normalmente dentro de su área de estudio) para emitir juicios que incluyan una reflexión sobre temas relevantes de índole social, científica o ética.
Capacidad de comunicar y aptitud social (CB4) Que los estudiantes puedan transmitir información, ideas, problemas y soluciones a un público tanto especializado como no especializado.
Habilidad para el aprendizaje (CB5) Que los estudiantes hayan desarrollado aquellas habilidades de aprendizaje necesarias para emprender estudios posteriores con un alto grado de autonomía.

 

Las competencias transversales de la Universidad de Almería, aprobadas en Consejo de Gobierno de 17 de junio de 2008, son las siguientes:

Conocimientos básicos de la profesión (UAL1) Conocimiento, habilidades y actitudes que posibilitan la comprensión de nuevas teorías, interpretaciones, métodos y técnicas dentro de los diferentes campos disciplinares, conducentes a satisfacer de manera óptima las exigencias profesionales.
Habilidad en el uso de las TIC (UAL2) Utilizar las Técnicas de Información y Comunicación (TICs) como una herramienta para la expresión y la comunicación, para el acceso a fuentes de información, como medio de archivo de datos y documentos, para tareas de presentación, para el aprendizaje, la investigación y el trabajo cooperativo.
Capacidad para resolver problemas (UAL3) Capacidad para identificar, analizar, y definir los elementos significativos que constituyen un problema para resolverlo con rigor.
Comunicación oral y escrita en la propia lengua (UAL4) Comprender expresar con claridad y oportunidad las ideas, conocimientos, problemas y soluciones a un público más amplio, especializado o no especializado (y sentimientos a través de la palabra, adaptándose a las características de la situación y la audiencia para lograr su comprensión y adhesión).
Capacidad de crítica y autocrítica (UAL5) Es el comportamiento mental que cuestiona las cosas y se interesa por los fundamentos en los que se asientan las ideas, acciones y juicios, tanto propios como ajenos.
Trabajo en equipo (UAL6) Integrarse y colaborar de forma activa en la consecución de objetivos comunes con otras personas, áreas y organizaciones, en contextos tanto nacionales como internacionales.
Conocimiento de una segunda  lengua (UAL7) Entender y hacerse entender de manera verbal y escrita usando una lengua diferente a la propia.
Compromiso ético (UAL8) Capacidad para pensar y actuar según principios de carácter universal que se basan en el valor de la persona y se dirigen a su pleno desarrollo.
Capacidad  para aprender a trabajar de forma autónoma (UAL9) Capacidad para diseñar, gestionar y ejecutar una tarea de forma personal.
Competencia social y ciudadanía global (UAL10) Respetar los derechos fundamentales y de igualdad entre hombres y mujeres, los Derechos Humanos, los valores de una cultura de paz y democráticos, los principios medioambientales y de cooperación al desarrollo que promuevan un compromiso ético en una sociedad global, intercultural, libre y justa.

 

Competences

Competences are the set of interrelated knowledge, attitudes, values, abilities and skills, which can be identified and evaluated, and which enable the student to undertake the professional activity according to requirements and standards used in the appropriate occupational area.

All grades of the University of Almeria explicitely cover three types of competences:

  1. Generic Competences included in Royal Decree 1393/2007 of 29 October, establishing regulations for Official University Studies.
  2. Generic Competences of the University of Almeria (approved in Governing Council 17 June 2008). These are transversal competences appearing in all degrees.
  3. Specific Competences of the degree. These competences are specified in the degree report, and are related to its own disciplines. Part of these competences may have been agreed at the regional level of Andalusia, or, in some degrees, they may have been decided nationally.

Thus, training of social workers should be comprehensive, covering disciplinary, competence and attitude contents which contribute to develop professionals who not only know how to perform, but also know the environment in which they work and are able to critically analyze it. This training takes into account the catalogue of specific competences defined for Social Work and also the global standars of education in Social Work defined in the international context. Thus, we propose three groups of objectives for the Grade degree in Social Work. As follows: general competences, for all grade degrees, are defined in the Royal Decree 1393/2007, of 29 October, and are intended to lead the student to acquire general training, in one or more disciplines, aimed at training for undertaking professional activities.

  1. Students should have proved to have acquired knowledge in an area of studies based on general secondary education, and normally at a level which, although relying on advanced text books, it also has aspects which imply knowledge from recent studies in their field.
  2. Students should know how to apply their knowledge to their work or vocation in a professional manner and have acquired the competences which are normally proved by preparing and defending arguments and solution to problems within their area of studies.
  3. Students should have the capacity of collecting and interpreting relevant data (normally within their area of studies) to express conclusions including thought about relevant social, scientific or ethical subjects.
  4. Preparing and defending arguments and solutin to problems within their area of studies.
  5. Students should have developed the necessary learning abilities to undertake further studies with a high level of autonomy.

The generic competences of the University of Almeria (approved in Governing Council 17 June 2008) are:

  1. Knowledge, abilities and attitudes which enable understanding new theories, interpretations, methods and techniques within the different fields of disciplines, leading to best satisfy professional demands.
  2. Using Information and Communication Techniques (ICTs) as a tool for expression and communication, for access to sources of information, as means for document and data files, for presenting results, for learning, research and cooperative work.
  3. Capacity to identify, analyse and define the significant elements which involve problems for rigorous solutions.
  4. Understanding and expressing with clarity and conveniency the ideas, knowledge, problems and solutions to a wider public, either specialised or not (and feelings through words, adapting to the features of the situation and the audience to reach understanding and adhesion).
  5. The mental behaviour is what questions things and takes interest for the grounds on which one's own and other people's ideas, actions and thoughts are based.
  6. Integrating and actively cooperating in reaching common goals with other people, areas and organizations, in both national and international contexts.
  7. Understanding and being understood orally and in writing not using one's own language.
  8. Capacity to think and act according to universal principles based on people's value and aimed at their full development.
  9. Capacity to design, manage and undertake a task personally.
  10. Respecting the fundamental rights and those of equality of men and women, Human Rights, democracy and culture of peace values, environmental principles and those of cooperation for development, which promote ethical commitement in a fair, free, intercultural and global society.
