ATTENTION: Due to a technical error pending solution, information about the basis on which some subjects are offered is incorrect. Some of the subjects appear as "Training supplement", when instead they should appear as either as "Compulsory" or "Optional". Pending the solution of this technical problem, you can check the document "Module structure" available on the Subjects page. Sorry for the inconveniences.

The Master has three Modules, one fundamental or transversal with 18 credits, another specific or itinerary module, in which students select the Chemistry itinerary they wish to specialize in, and finally an application module which is the End of Master Dissertation (See graph in section 6).

Students may select subjects from ONLY one Itinerary.

结构 Master in Applied Advanced Chemistry

The Applied Advanced Chemistry Master has one common module, with six transversal subjects, and the possibility of choosing one module (itinerary) from among the following five:

The itinerary called "Analitical Chemistry" is oriented to acquire the knowledge required to establish efficient and viable protocols and technologies to analyze and monitor organic compounds, materials and nanomaterials.

The itinerary called "Inorganic Chemistry" has the general objective of promoting knowledge and basic research in areas of Chemistry of prioritary attention nowadays, such as: the study of structural properties and chemical reactivity of solids and the so-called "new materials", the study of Coordination Chemistry in the context of biological and environment studies, Chemistry of life processes, and environment Chemistry.

The itinerary called "Organic Chemistry" is designed to supplement the training of the graduates in Chemistry in several essencial matters, such as Organic Synthesis, both in its stereochemical aspects and in the use of organometalic compounds, Industrial Organic Chemistry, with special emphasis on the pharmaceutical industry, application of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance to structural determination, Theoretical Organic Chemistry and Supramolecular Interactions.

The itinerary called "Physics-Chemistry" offers subjects which study biological macromolecules, both those related with techniques for improving knowledge about them, and those that study their interactions with other compounds.

The itinerary called "Biochemistry and Molecular Biology” is focussed on obtaining compounds with a high added value in the pharmaceutical and agrifood industries, by enzymatic synthesis. Subjects are offered focussed on the obtention of biological catalyzers (proteins) by recombinant DNA techniques, offering students subjects which enable DNA manipulation both in silico and in the laboratory.

Students may select subjects from ONLY one Itinerary.

Finally, students must undertake a 15 credits experimental work which is complementary to the academic training received in the Itinerary. Two different orientations are available for choice, one Academic and the other Professional orientation, mutually exclusive; subjects can only be selected from one orientation.

The Academic orientation is intended for students who wish to focus their professional career more specifically towards research and who intend to continue with the doctorate specific studies, which implies undertaking a doctorate dissertation with guarantee of success, by performing an End of Master Dissertation of 15 credits. This Academic Orientation, however, also prepares students to work in any R+D+i laboratory, as it trains students to manage well in a research laboratory.

The Vocational orientation includes the possibility of undertaking research studies in companies of the province by performing a 9 credit Internship added to a 6 credit End of Master Dissertation. These two parts which add up to 15 credits are inseparable and necessary for students to complete the Master.

特產 /線路

The degrees have been configured so, once completed, students may obtain a specialization. These specializations can be called by different names, although the most common ones are "Speciality", "Curricular Itinerary" o "Mention".

The "Master in Applied Advanced Chemistry" degree has the following Itineararies:

The student must necessarily select one of these itineraries. Check the subjects of each itinerary in the section "subjects ordered by modules" on this same page.

先决条件

The Syllabus may include special conditions required for registration or for studying one or more of its subjects. These conditions are the PREREQUISITES: Subject or group of subjects, called "key" subjects, which must have been studied or passed before.
